VOICE FOR CHILDREN

Neil McMurray - Voice for Children

I have just had privilege of interviewing Neil McMurray, one of the hero Jersey bloggers who were blogging for Jersey, as he puts it, and against child abuse and corruption which were rampant on the island. The bloggers effectively functioned as the fourth estate on the island when the main stream media just refused to even pretend to hold the powers that be to account.

The local media (BBC, ITV, Jersey Evening Post) have long lost the trust of the people in their failure to confront the horrendous scandal of institutional child abuse on the island. Instead the people turned to the bloggers. When there was something to be leaked, it was to the bloggers that it was leaked as people knew that the material would otherwise be consigned to the MSM dustbin.

Suspended Police Chief Graham Power
and Children's Home Haut de la Garenne

In this interview Neil gives a concrete example of this in relation to the disgraceful and illegal suspension of the Police Chief in the Establishment's effort to contain the cover up.

The police investigation did not suit the powers that be and they made sure to wind it up at the first opportunity, by suspending the Police Chief and replacing him and the Senior Investigating Officer with more compliant individuals. To this day there are people out there who should have been locked up, to say the least, years ago.

I asked Neil why he prints anonymous comments and got a serious answer. You can see above the annotated bullet that was sent to Trevor Pitman, parliamentarian and blogger, in an attempt to shut him down. The Jersey State later did just that in one of the most devious operations I have seen on the island.

And discover the relevance of my remark that if Jesus came to Jersey he'd end up in Southhampton in his pyjamas.

So lots of exciting, if despicable, things to talk about. Enjoy.

For those not fully up to speed on the Jersey situation or those needing some introduction to the subject matter of the interview, I thought it worthwhile to include some links below. These generally refer to individual matters mentioned in the course of the interview.

Advocate Philip Sinel's submission to the Carswell REVIEW on governance..

Bloggers, and State Media evidence to the Care Inquiry: TRANSCRIPTS.

Transcripts of the secret States Debate with the "damning" report that Andrew Lewis did(n't) see.

Also mentioned in the video was the interim defence case of the former Chief Police Officer Graham Power QPM that has been buried by the State Media.

Bloggers being EXCLUDED, from media room at care Inquiry.

Discredited, and disgraced, ITV/CTV was not EXCLUDED.

My blog "Introducing Jersey"

This post will give you a sense of the background as I set it out in November 2012.

This post refers to the German occupation of the Channel islands (2940-45) and the position of individual bloggers as of 2016.

This is the story of the lady known as HG and the churchwarden, referred to in the interview.

This is the story of the Police Chief and his suspension. It draws on, and links to, the transcript of his oral hearing and his written submission of evidence. These documents are no longer available.

My criticism and expectations of the report of the Care Inquiry.

The contents of the Care Inquiry Report and more.

The chief troll referred to in the interview and his comments.

Criticism of the Inquiry's website, the taking down of material, the partial restoration of the site in low security mode and confined to official documents such as the report but leaving the oral hearings transcripts and evidence submitted still offline.

Thanks for all these links. Most useful. Keep'em coming.

Re Stella's comment, I know Stuart Syvret used to live in one of those apartments at one stage. You might check out with him what they're like.

  9. Thank you for a great interview and I'm not going to pretend I am infatuated with trying to trash anybody who wants to bring pedophiles to account anymore.

  10. A very informative interview. Could you please confirm that a parliamentarian was sent a bullet to presumably intimidate him into silence and the police didn't do anything about it?

  11. I can't remember their names now or where it is in the video but am I correct in believing one politician who lied under oath to the enquiry didn't get prosecuted for perjury and the politician who blew the whistle on the abuse was refused any legal protection? This sounds all messed up which is why I'm looking for clarification. Sorry if I've got it all wrong.

I'm glad the interview has finally got you singing the praises of the worthy Cheyenne O'Connor.

    Bravo.

  13. @Anonymous: the bullet

Yes, the Right Honourable Trevor Pitman was sent the bullet and he submitted the above image of it to the Care Inquiry in evidence. I managed to capture the image from the evidence before it all disappeared offline.

As far as I know, and I live many miles away, there is no indication of the Jersey Police taking much interest and they certainly never found the culprit. Perhaps from want of looking.

Trevor's wife, Shona, was run down by a car at a traffic light and the police went to great lengths to cover up the driver's identity but, as I understand it, eventually provided a name for insurance purposes. I do not know what conditions might have applied to this belated provision.

  14. @Anonymous: perjury

Yes, the patsy Home Affairs Minister, who suspended the Police Chief, was caught out lying under oath when the "in camera" parliamentary debate was leaked and became public property. It was also, as far as I remember, alluded to in evidence to the Care Inquiry but they were reluctant to accept leaked information. This led to them pressuring the parliament to itself officially releasing the transcript of the debate.

There is material for more than one novel in the twists and turns of the Care Inquiry. It would, of course, be a great help if the taken-down transcripts and evidence were reinstated online in the Inquiries website.

  15. In the first few sentences he indicates Jersey is a centre for money laundering? What do you base that on?

Sorry, this chap has zero credibility in my mind.

Time to do a bit of your own research.

Excellent interview and thank you for doing it as I have learnt loads about the disgraceful way Lenny Harper, Graham Power, Stuart Syvret and Trevor and Shona Pitman were treated. Is there any chance you could interview any of them as well if I promise not to leave you any comments pretending I'm not interested?

  21. I have just read one of the links you provided about Jon Haworth making a complaint about a politician. His complaint was not successful because he is a nut case. here is the link I followed if somebody could turn it into a clickable link? https://introducingjersey.blogspot.com/2018/05/jon.html

  27. If you want to waste time on unaccountable people like that drunken twat then no wonder Lundy left with a grin on his face. I am disappointed with this because attacks should be against the real bastards. Not raking over the suspension of Graham Power and trolling shitheads.

    1. You certainly have a point there. Lundy has been exposed but unfortunately there is little Neil or I can do to bring him his just desserts.

As for the shithead, causing him pain is a good cause for now.

Graham Power's suspension, while well past by now, is important in exposing the establishment and showing how sloppy, or devious, the Inquiry was.
