Last year, the theme of Michael Edwards's photo competition was Remembering 1916. It continued from mid 2016 right into the current year and it produced an interesting crop of photos from five local clubs and a number of individuals. I have blogged it here.
The theme this year is OUR TOWN and the idea is to showcase where we are from and what it means to us. The only stipulation is that photos have not been entered for or exhibited at any other exhibition. The minimum size for clubs is 16x12 inches and for individual entries 12x8 inches.
Closing date for entries is just before the relevant club/category is exhibited and the schedule for the exhibitions is as follows:
Raheny - 3rd June
St. Benedict’s - 1st July
Howth - 29th July
Sutton - 26th August
Swords Viewfinders - 23rd Sept
Club Finalist Display & Public Entrants - 21st October
Winners Presentation & Reception - 9th November
Photos should be mounted and the photo's title should be displayed on the front of the mount.
The judges will be giving equal weight to each of the following criteria: reflecting the title/topic; technical attributes; composition; presentation; and overall impression.
Entry forms which must accompany any entry will be available soon at Michael Edwards Photographer's in the Donaghmede Shopping Centre.
GOOD LUCK.
