Well, that didn't last long. Clearly these prophylactic phallic projectiles are still as memorable as when I first saw them and thought they should, in all modesty, be covered up. That was pre-Vatican II.
This is a tricky one as the colour scheme has altered slightly since the photo was taken (some many years ago).

ReplyDeleteYou were probably seeing phallic projectiles everywhere before Vatican II ... 1962 if I'm not mistaken.
